The musical meeting between Emma, Carl og Vidar
– first happened during the time all three of them where students at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm 2008. The wide spectrum of instruments and the musical chemistry between Emma, Carl and Vidar weaves a strong and exciting soundscape through their songs and tunes. The music also reflects the three folk musicians both as tradition-bearers and as the individual artists they are to day. Their first single was recorded on the carpets of Carl’s parents’ livingroom during some magical summer days in 2009. Hope you like it and join the club!

Emma Johansson
– is one of best known folk music fluteplayers in Sweden. She has developed her own way of playing tunes on flute and is now working as a free lance musician both as a flautist and singer. Her music tradition comes from the west coast where she was brought up. She has studied folk music at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm where she also taught for several years. Emma performs in other constellations such as Oleman, Tandoori Hill, Seglora, Huggevill and in the international project Seaquins.

Carl Nyqvist
– is a riksspelman (national fiddler of Swedish traditional music), educated in Swedish traditional music at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, where he studied under Mikael Marin and Ellika Frisell. Carl has specialized in traditions from western parts of Sweden and is a well-known musician in this area, where he is often also hired as a teacher.
Vidar Skrede
– is one of the today’s most outstanding musicians of Norwegian traditional music and contemporary folk music. He is a steady bearer of his home tradition in Rogaland in South-West of Norway, and a great artist through his own compositions and bands such as Vidar Skrede DYNAMO BAND, Geitungen and Aamos. With his way of playing, Vidar has had a big influence in the Norwegian folk music milieu. He has recorded several CD’s, of which, Geitungen – BRA KAST, received the prize for best CD in open/experimental category at the Norwegian Folk Music Awards 2005.
